Curracloe BeachGetting there

To walk to Curracloe and the Raven from Morriscastle  will take about 4 hours – More if you give yourself time to enjoy the scenery along the way and have a picnic.
To drive to the entry to the Ravens Wood will take about 20 minutes from your cottage. The beach is easily accessible from the car park.
If you want to walk through the Ravens Wood right to the point itself it will take you about 30 minutes at a brisk stroll.

Curracloe

Curracloe Beach has a deep dune sand system similar to Morriscastle the same white silver fine sand. It too is a Blue Flag Beach. Walking around the Point to opening views of Wexford town across the Estuary on a sunny day is divine. The Raven is a quiet beach. To reach the beach takes about 30 mins walk through the woods at Culletons Gap but once there it is worth every minute.

Curracloe BeachThe small dunes provide shelter and the sea has made a wonderland of eddies and lagoons with Wexford town providing a soft interesting back drop. The whole place isolated and beautiful with the distinctive skyline of the distant town giving it a feeling of place.

The North Slob

The walk through Culleton’s Wood from the road to the Raven passes the North Slob. Another area reclaimed from the sea. The North Slob is the wintering ground to 10.000 Green land White Fronted Geese approximately one third of the world’s population. In winter they are a marvelous chattering sight coming in to land at dusk. In summer few are usually still hanging around having become too lazy and too cosy over the winter to head off again March.
