Eating Out in Wexford

We have visited all of the restaurants we describe in our personal Guide to the Restaurants of Wexford and these are our suggestions.

New restaurants frequently do appear on the market and are discovered by our guests and some guests experiences are different to our own. We are delighted to have your opinion to share with other guests. We have a section on our Facebook site for guests to share their own experiences of our local eateries.

With the exception of a number of special exceptions that are worth a detour on their own, all the eateries we have identified are within a twenty minute or less journey from your cottage. In the case of restaurants, which are a little further afield, they can be visited as part of day trip out with the family for a leisurely lunch or for dinner on the way home.

We have tried to give a range of different types of restaurant and with some idea of the food and the ambiance in each one.

If you are travelling with children and want to go out for the evening we have a babysitting service available. Please let us know three days in advance if you require a baby sitter.

In the Local Area

Marlfield House

This famous Irish restaurant is part of an exquisitely restored 18th century house set amongst beautiful gardens. Walks bordered by fragrant herbaceous borders and rose gardens lead through mature parkland to a sun drenched walled garden.

Marlfield restaurant is an elegant dining experience and the library lunch
is excellent value. On a sunny day having lunch or indeed afternoon tea on the garden terrace is a real treat. Also a lovely place for a glass of wine on a sunny evening.

Marlfield is a most gracious and welcoming place. During the year a series of concerts of mainly light classical or operatic music are held in the gardens or in the house itself. The concert dates and programmes are detailed in The Guest Log In section of our website. Reservations are required for evening meals.
